NY6 International Student Summit

The New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium members are inviting international students from across the Consortium to the first ever New York Six International Student Summit event, hosted by Hamilton College from 4pm Friday, October 14 to 1pm Saturday, October 15, 2016.  The Summit will be a networking and social event that will provide students with an opportunity to come together to discuss issues of importance to international students, and provide an opportunity for students to connect.

This event is student-run, so students from across the NY6 are leading the panels, which will include the following:

>>"What did you do last summer?  Internships, fellowships, research opportunities and CPT"

>>"Reverse Culture Shock: Transitioning back to your home country"

>>Story SLAM: An open-mic storytelling session that will invite students share with others about their life experience, especially as someone coming from outside the US.  This is modeled after HWS' Away Cafe.

>>"Finding Your Place: Social adjustment to college life in upstate NY"

>>"International Student Association Roundtable: Discussion about campus organizing"

>>NY6 Alumni Panel: "Employment Tips from Alumni Working in the US - Navigating OPT, H1B and STEM Extensions"

The Summit will provide food and accommodations (which may involve sleeping bags in the dorm rooms of our generous Hamilton hosts!) to all those who register.  Registration is initially limited to 10 students per NY6 school, and registration is required by October 7, 2016.  Panelists and lead presenters are also required to register.  You can register online at the following URL:

For more information, or to be involved, please contact your international student advisor on your home campus.  We look forward to seeing you in Clinton on the 14th!
