Colgate to Host IGD Symposium Oct. 16
We invite NY6 students, staff, faculty and administrators to join us at Colgate for Stages of Change: Dialogue in a Liberal Arts Context on Monday, October 16, from 8 am to 5 pm. This event brings together faculty, staff, and students from Colgate, New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium schools, and others from Central New York region for a day of forums and workshops, to share research and best practices for using Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) to improving campus climate through curricular and co-curricular intellectual and community engagement. The name, “Stages of Change,” refers to the IGD 4-Stage dialogic process.

Goals:

Provide a basic introduction to the components of intergroup dialogue

Explore curricular and extracurricular possibilities of dialogue in various college settings

Provide space for dialogue among students, staff, faculty, and administrators

Advance innovative practices to institutionalize curricular and extracurricular dialogue(s)

Foster networking and community among practitioners across the region
