NY Six Schools in Negawatt Challenge

Five New York Six institutions are competing in the New York Negawatt Challenge, an electricity reduction competition for campus residence halls, a northeast component of Campus Conservation Nationals. From February 13 through March 5, St. Lawrence, Skidmore, Hamilton, Colgate and Hobart and William Smith will vie to see which school can reduce electricity use in its residence halls by the greatest percentage. The Campus Conservation Nationals is the first nationwide electricity and water reduction competition on college and university campuses. In its second year, CCN gives a common voice and motivation to thousands of students, all working together to reduce consumption and mitigate the impacts of climate change. The New York Negawatt Challenge focuses solely on electricity.
