NY6 Presidents Oppose Proposed Visa Changes

The presidents of the New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium member institutions have issued a statement opposing the changes to visa regulations for international students and visiting scholars which have been proposed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The proposed regulations would end the practice of issuing visas for the duration of a student’s academic studies or a scholar’s academic appointment and institute a fixed-term visa. National rankings continue to favor the members of the New York Six Consortium. In the US News Best Colleges rankings issued this week, the six schools were ranked among the best national liberal arts colleges, the best value schools, and schools with the best undergraduate teaching. Hamilton College was tied for ninth among the best national liberal arts Colleges, and Colgate University was tied for 20th on that list. All NY6 Schools Make Best Colleges List

All New York Six member schools have been named to the Princeton Review Best Colleges list for 2021. Among the categories in which the schools received top-20 recognition were Most Accessible Professors/Professors Get High Marks, Best Career Services, Best Classroom Experience, Best College Theater, Best Science Lab Facilities, Best Run Colleges, and Most Active Student Governments.
