Teresa Amott, who has served as provost and dean of faculty at Hobart and William Smith Colleges since 2005, has been named president of Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. The Connect NY executive committee has received a proposal for the addition of Hamilton, Hobart and William Smith, and Skidmore, and has appointed a negotiating team to work with the vendor to iron out the details and bring the costs in line with our budget.  We expect an update on the progress of the negotiations in late March.More info. about Connect NY may be found here.

Some of our campuses are conducting faculty focus groups to determine classroom/academic needs regarding use of media, to help ensure that our MediaShare outcomes are in line with these needs.  The campuses that are not participating already have obtained this information through other means.Target date for completion of focus groups: May 31

The MediaShare working group is exploring the possibility of joining NJVid, which already provides streaming video services to its members (all located in New Jersey).  St. Lawrence and Hamilton have agreed to participate in a pilot with NJVid to test their systems and viability of this option.  Concurrently, Colgate and Skidmore are testing streaming media over a shared server via both the commodity internet and Internet 2.Information about NJVid is available at: ...
